What do we do with the money?

Great question.  We are preparing food for approximately 50 – 75 people every week.  As you can imagine, the food and supplies start to add up.  We have quite a few regular families that cook and donate food each week.  Any money that we receive  will help off-set the cost of the food.  We also provide clothing, blankets, hygiene and other items to make life more tolerable for living outdoors.

Are you a 501(c)(3) Organization?

Yes.  We are a non-profit organization, established to assist people in need.  Specifically, we aim to assist the homeless in Tempe, AZ.  Any donations that you make to Friends Feed Friends qualifies as a charitable donation.

How much is used for administrative and overhead costs?

Exactly $0.00.  We have no staff, no administrative fees, or any expenses – other than food, beverages and serving utensils.  Everything goes towards serving our friends at Escalante Park, in Tempe, AZ.

How else can I help?

Show up on Friday nights (winter we start serving at 5:00 PM, summer we start serving at 6:00 PM).  We are usually done serving and hanging out in 1 hour from the time we start.  You can show up to serve, to mix and mingle, or to bring food.  We update our menu on our website every week: Friends Feed Friends. If you are able to bring something, you can check the website, see what’s on the menu, check for comments to see what others are bringing, find something that is still a need (i.e. no comments indicating that someone is bringing a particular item) and send a comment that you will bring the food item.  We usually prepare enough food for 75 – so indicate how many servings you plan to bring.  Any amount is OK.  Simply post what you can do.  Others will see your post and fill in the gap.

Pray!!!  Pray to God that we will have enough food to serve everyone.  Ask that His will is done.  We try to pray for folks as they request prayer, so ask God for words of knowledge, or for courage for our friends to indicate their needs to someone – and ask for prayer.  When we have the opportunity to pray with our friends, without a doubt, God shows up for some powerful ministry time.

Is it safe at the park?

Generally yes.  We have lots of families with small children that come each week.  There is a park next to the pavilion for the kids to play on.  But, like in any situation – keep a close eye on your kids!  On occasion, there are minor incidents – but nothing to raise cause for alarm.  Police are typically close by.  And, quite frankly – our friends at the park REALLY, REALLY appreciate that we are there serving consistently every week, so – they want us to be safe and to feel safe.  They seem to know how to handle the occasional disruptive person well!  :-)

What if I have other questions?  Who do I contact?

Select the “Contact Us” tab on our website, or click the link here: CONTACT US.

Why are you doing this?

We are a group of people simply trying to be obedient to God.

What is your EIN?

Our Employer ID Number (EIN) is 45-4197025.

  1. Hi there! I love what your website. It contains so much info. I just have a question. I live in Apache junction and had a huge yard sale and still have lots of stuff for women and kids. Lots of book, movies and women clothing nice one’s too. And shoes for women and would really love to see people in need using them rather than dropping off at Goodwill so they can make a buck. So please send address’s or phone numbers so I can make sure to get this stuff to a place that will be in good use and appreciated. And thank you for your time! Becky 480-275-9409 or email me at
